Published 25 July 2026 year, 13:01

Participant in the regional “Young Person of the Year 2026” contest “Called to Save” category: Vladislav Huseynov

Vladislav Huseynov is an officer with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine who has dedicated his life to saving people and protecting civilians in wartime. Having experienced forced displacement as a child from occupied Horlivka to Bakhmut, he chose to become a rescuer to help those in danger and give people a chance at a safe future.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Vladislav has been directly involved in efforts to protect the population and evacuate residents of the Donetsk region from areas of active combat. In 2025, he was assigned to the reception (transit) evacuation center in Pavlohrad, where, together with representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and civil society organizations, he ensured the reception, registration, and provision of emergency assistance to evacuees. With his involvement, more than 6,300 citizens received comprehensive support, including 835 people with disabilities and 389 children. Thanks to the professional organization of the work, the transit center was able to provide uninterrupted assistance to people who had lost their homes.

In March 2026, Vladislav carried out evacuation missions in the Druzhkivka community of the Kramatorsk district, which was under constant shelling. Risking his own life, he led evacuation teams, organized the evacuation of civilians, and helped people with limited mobility leave dangerous areas. Thanks to the team’s professional and decisive actions, 26 people were rescued, including 7 people with limited mobility.

Through his dedication to duty, courage, and high level of professionalism, Vladislav Huseynov proves every day that an unbreakable will is manifested not only in resilience in the face of adversity but also in the willingness to risk one’s own life to save others. His work represents a significant contribution to the protection of the population of Donetsk Oblast and the strengthening of Ukraine’s security.
