The Third Kyiv Forum of Youth Councils, titled “Youth in Action at the Heart of Our Country,” took place in the capital. This large-scale event brought together active youth leaders, representatives of youth councils from across Ukraine, government officials, civil society representatives, and experts. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko opened the forum.
The forum began with a symbolic event. On the morning of July 24, celebrations marking the anniversary of the historic raising of the national flag took place on the square in front of the Kyiv City Council. Alongside representatives of the city government, diplomats, and colleagues from across the country, young people from the Donetsk region actively participated in the event.
Following the celebrations, the proceedings continued in the Kyiv City Council’s session hall. Young people from the Donetsk region had the opportunity to speak in panel discussions and present the practical experience and initiatives of their local communities regarding maintaining engagement amid forced displacement. The experience and best practices from the Donetsk region elicited a lively response from colleagues in frontline and relocated communities across Ukraine.
Participation in an event of this caliber has once again proven that Donetsk Oblast is alive and thriving, and its youth remain united, cohesive, and active. The voice of our region’s communities is clearly heard throughout the country.
