Supporting residents who have been affected by hostilities and forced to leave their homes remains one of the key priorities for government authorities. Particular attention is given to citizens residing in residential care facilities who require constant care from others and medical supervision.
On June 26, 2026, representatives of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Social Protection conducted a monitoring visit to the relocated Bakhmut Psychoneurological Residential Care Facility in the Poltava region.
During the working visit, department representatives examined in detail the current state of inpatient care services, living conditions, nutrition, medical care, and the observance of residents’ rights and social guarantees, among other issues. Particular attention was paid to issues of accessibility, adapting the facilities to the needs of people with limited mobility, organizing meaningful leisure activities, and psychological rehabilitation.
The facility provides stable, high-quality care, creating an atmosphere of comfort and safety for residents, a barrier-free environment, comfortable living conditions, a nutritious and balanced diet, round-the-clock medical supervision, opportunities for comprehensive development, meaningful leisure activities, and psychological rehabilitation for residents, an uninterrupted power supply, and all the necessary technical conditions for the sustainable provision of social services. Thanks to this, every resident feels protected and cared for.
Department officials spoke with the facility’s residents and gathered feedback on the quality of care and living conditions. During a meeting with the facility’s staff, they discussed further improvements to living conditions and care for residents, as well as prompt responses to their individual needs.
The Regional State Administration is taking the necessary measures to ensure that every resident of Donetsk Oblast who has been forced to leave their home due to the war feels protected and provided with everything they need. Monitoring visits help identify issues in a timely manner and work together to find solutions.
Efforts to monitor the quality of social services and support for relocated social institutions in the Donetsk region are ongoing and remain under the constant supervision of the Regional State Administration.
