To mark International Museum Day, the Donetsk Regional Local History Museum held a workshop titled “Together on What Matters.” The event aimed to bring together the Donetsk region’s museum community for professional dialogue on current challenges facing the museum sector during wartime, to exchange work experiences, and to develop joint approaches to addressing pressing issues.
The workshop served as an effective platform for open professional communication among museum professionals, showcasing the activities of the region’s museums and discussing the functioning of museum institutions under current conditions. During the event, the main areas of activity for Donetsk region museums were presented, and the specifics of museum operations during wartime were discussed. New guidelines for future professional collaboration were outlined.
A separate stage of the workshop was a facilitation session with training elements led by Natalia Stadnychuk, a trainer, mentor, facilitator, psychologist, and director of the NGO “Space for Positive Change.” This format allowed participants to identify key challenges in the museum sector, share experiences in addressing them, and collaboratively develop potential approaches to overcoming current difficulties.
The event strengthened communication ties among museum professionals, local historians, and historians in the region to support the further professional development of the museum sector.
The organizers express their gratitude to Natalia Stadnychuk for her professional moderation of the dialogue, and to all attendees for their active participation.
