The Donetsk Regional Local History Museum took part in the «Different Together» festival, which was held on September 19–21 at the Art Arsenal, to present its own achievements and introduce guests to the pedagogical legacy of the outstanding 19th-century Ukrainian educator Mykola Korf.
The stand of the Memorial Museum-Estate of V. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko and M. O. Korf, a department of the Donetsk Regional Local History Museum, became a kind of portal in time, where each visitor had the opportunity to feel a living connection between history and the present. The space was designed to combine the educational atmosphere of the 19th century with the latest interactive approaches.
At the «Different Together» festival, visitors had the opportunity to learn about Mykola Korf’s pedagogical legacy in an interactive format. Thanks to an electronic microscope, children and adults explored the phenomena described in his works, and at the «Schoolboy of the Past» location, they tried to write quotes from the outstanding educator with a quill pen.
In the creative zone, participants created miniature works using 3D pens, combining modern technology with historical themes. No less interesting was the demonstration of 19th-century life, in particular, the opportunity to grind grain on a hand mill.
The project became a vivid example of how history can inspire, unite, and encourage learning.
