On May 21, as part of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project “Decentralization for the Development of Democratic Education,” online career guidance sessions were held for students at pilot educational institutions in the Mykolaiv and Kurakhiv territorial communities.

Project mentors Svitlana Garna, Dmytro Horbachuk, and Viktoria Shcherbatyuk participated in the events. During the meetings, the young people explored the world of modern professions, entrepreneurship, and creative industries, and learned about real-life stories of professional development.

One of the key events was the online tour “How to Build a Successful Flower Business from Scratch,” led by Tetyana Rybalko, a representative of the Kurakhiv community. She told participants about her experience creating and developing a relocated greenhouse flower-growing business, shared the story of starting her own business, the challenges of entrepreneurship, and ways to overcome them.

The students learned that a successful business is based not only on resources but also on perseverance, responsibility, a willingness to learn, and belief in one’s own idea.

An online tour of an advertising and production company in Kryvyi Rih was also organized for students and teachers from the Mykolaiv community. Anna Chopik, a co-owner of the company, introduced the participants to modern processes in the fields of printing, design, and the production of advertising materials.

During the meeting, the young people learned about the specifics of a modern printing house, the creation of banners, flyers, business cards, printing on various surfaces, and other types of advertising materials. Participants saw how creativity, modern technology, entrepreneurship, and teamwork come together in this field.

The organizers note that career guidance events help young people better understand their own interests, learn about professional development opportunities, and take the first steps toward making an informed choice about their future profession.
