A crew from DTEK Donetsk Electric Grids came under attack by a drone while performing restoration work. Fortunately, no one was injured, though the crew’s vehicle was damaged. Shelling in the Donetsk region continues and constantly complicates the work of emergency repair teams. Nevertheless, the company's specialists keep restoring power lines as soon as conditions allow, bringing electricity back to the region’s residents.

Despite increasing difficulty and danger, DTEK Donetsk Electric Grids specialists continue working in the region. The enemy attacks daily, and energy crews are increasingly coming under fire. This time, the team was performing switching operations at an energy facility to connect a power line that had been repaired after a previous strike. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a drone, followed by an explosion near their vehicle. Thankfully, the workers were unharmed: the driver managed to jump out of the car before the blast and, along with a colleague, took shelter in a nearby building. Although only the metal rims were left of two wheels, the vehicle was still operable, allowing the team to reach the nearest settlement, where colleagues helped repair it.

“The cost of electricity in Donetsk region is nearly equal to the cost of life. Despite this, we continue to restore power supply as soon as the situation allows, although the risks remain extremely high,” the company stated.

Energy company workers now face shelling during their duties on a regular basis. Since the beginning of the year, two power workers have been injured.

Restoration work on damaged networks only begins after receiving clearance from the military and the State Emergency Service. However, the enemy is treacherous, and crews can come under fire at any time and in any place. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Donetsk Electric Grids’ repair teams have come under fire more than 200 times, and 19 specialists have been injured during repairs.
