On June 26, 2026, a meeting was held of the working group responsible for coordinating efforts in the Donetsk Oblast to provide assistance and social services to war veterans, military personnel, and the families of military personnel who have been killed in action (either deceased or declared missing in action).

In May 2026, 42 military personnel from the Donetsk Oblast were released from captivity.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the structural units of the Oblast State Administration, the Oblast Employment Center, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Donetsk Oblast, the Donetsk Oblast Territorial Recruitment Center, district state administrations, district military administrations, the Main Directorates of the National Police and the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk Oblast, as well as military administrations in the districts where the aforementioned categories of persons reside.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the results of efforts to support individuals released from captivity, seriously wounded military personnel, and their family members. Representatives of local communities reported on the assistance provided, identified needs, and measures being taken to address them.

Separate discussions focused on social adaptation, psychological recovery, access to social services, and ensuring adequate support for these categories of individuals.

Following the meeting, further steps were outlined to coordinate the activities of government agencies and strengthen support for war veterans, military personnel released from captivity, and their families.
