On July 31, a regular meeting of the working group on providing assistance, social protection, and support for war veterans, military personnel, and the families of fallen Defenders of Ukraine took place. The event was chaired by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the regional employment center, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk region, the Donetsk Regional Territorial Recruitment Center, district state administrations, district military administrations, and the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region.
During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of state and additional social guarantees for the mentioned categories. Special attention was paid to severely wounded soldiers and those released from captivity who are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in hospitals.
Representatives of local communities traditionally report on their efforts at each meeting. This time, they also shared the steps already taken: restoring lost documents, providing financial assistance, offering sanatorium treatment funded by local budgets, and other forms of support. Notably, every time the regional administration receives information about severely wounded service members or Donetsk residents released from captivity, the data is promptly transferred to the relevant communities, which immediately respond and provide assistance to our Defenders.
Following the meeting, the key areas of further work were identified. The working group will continue to coordinate the efforts of all services to ensure that veterans and their families receive the necessary support.
