On October 7, 2025, a working meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration O. Shevchenko with the participation of representatives of the structural units of the Regional State Administration, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Main Department of the National Police in Donetsk Region, the State Specialized Institution "Donetsk Regional Bureau of Forensic Medicine", representatives of the Donetsk Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support and local authorities.
They discussed the issue of burying the bodies (remains) of unidentified (unknown) Defenders of Ukraine, whose storage period expires in December 2025.
The main topic of discussion was the development of an algorithm for interaction between the relevant authorities regarding the decent burial of the bodies (remains) of unidentified (unknown) Defenders of Ukraine.
An algorithm of interaction was also developed in case of identification and further exhumation and burial of all bodies (remains) by close relatives.
Following the meeting, a decision was made to prepare a corresponding action plan.
The organization of burials of unidentified servicemen remains a matter of national dignity and respect for everyone who gave their lives for Ukraine.
