Igor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, took part in a meeting initiated by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on ensuring high-quality mobile and fixed communications in the region.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current state of telecommunications networks, identify problem areas, and determine areas for state support in improving communications.
Particular attention was paid to frontline communities in Donetsk region, where stable communications are critical for the safety of the population, coordination of government agencies, and the work of emergency services.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine was represented at the meeting by Denis Pozdnyakov, Advisor to the Minister on Electronic Communications, and Nadiya Babych, Head of the Mobile Communications Development Department of the Directorate for Electronic Communications and Radio Frequency Spectrum.
During the discussion, Ihor Boiko informed the representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation about the problems faced by communities in the region and stressed the need to strengthen the communications infrastructure in frontline areas, where it directly affects people's lives and safety. He also added that currently, three operators provide mobile communications and mobile Internet in the region: Vodafone Ukraine, Kyivstar, and Lifecell.
Igor Boiko noted that some of the base stations located in the region have been designated as priority sites. He thanked the representatives of mobile operators for their coordinated work and expressed his hope for further cooperation.
