On March 12, 2026, as part of the regional platform "Dialogue between Government and Business," created on the instructions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an online meeting was held on the topic "Compliance with advertising legislation in the field of consumer protection during martial law."
More than 70 representatives of businesses and authorities in the Donetsk region took part in the event.
During the meeting, experts from the Main Directorate of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Donetsk region explained the main requirements of legislation in the field of advertising and drew attention to the most common violations.
Andriy Adamenko, head of the market and metrological supervision department of the consumer protection and regulated prices control department, noted that advertising activities in Ukraine are regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising," the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Protection," and other regulatory acts. He stressed that advertising must be truthful, not misleading to consumers, and comply with the principles of fair competition.
Yulia Gavrilova, chief specialist of the department for control in the areas of trade, works, and services, provided information on the mechanism for responding to violations of advertising legislation. The basis for their consideration may be the results of monitoring, appeals from citizens, or information from authorities. If violations are confirmed, financial sanctions may be applied to business entities.
During the meeting, they also discussed requirements for advertising on the Internet, rules for placing outdoor advertising, differences between signs and advertising structures, as well as legal requirements for job advertisements.
Such events help raise awareness among entrepreneurs about legal requirements and foster constructive dialogue between the government and business. The work of the "Dialogue between Authorities and Business" platform in the Donetsk region continues.
