A working meeting was held between the deputy head of the regional state administration, Oleksandr Shevchenko, and representatives of the military administrations of the region's settlements and heads of education authorities.
The meeting discussed the projected network of educational institutions in the region for the next academic year and the status of the implementation of the senior specialized school reform.
They also discussed current issues:
- plans for the formation of a network of educational institutions for the 2026-2027 academic year;
- the status of the implementation of senior specialized school reform;
- the specifics of re-profiling educational institutions into primary schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums by September 1, 2027.
The process of implementing specialized education reform in Donetsk Oblast began in 2023 with the approval of a regional plan to establish a network of academic and vocational lyceums and plans to transform the network of educational institutions in local communities. In some local communities, work began on re-profiling educational institutions in accordance with the requirements of the reform.
The issue of forming an effective network and implementing the reform of senior specialized schools is under constant control by the regional state administration, the regional state administration's department of education and science, and the heads of military administrations in the region's settlements.
During the meeting, possible risks were identified, problematic issues were discussed, and joint solutions were developed.
Productive and effective cooperation at all levels of government, despite the war and the predominantly remote format of the educational process, will make it possible to create an effective and efficient network of educational institutions and ensure quality education for all Donetsk residents.
