Opportunities for vocational training and retraining were discussed in the Donetsk region

Published 23 October 2026 year, 09:28

On October 22, as part of the regional platform “Dialogue Between Government and Business,” established at the direction of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy,                             an online meeting was held on the topic “Professional Development and Training—Key Components of Success in Life.” More than 90 government and business representatives from the Donetsk region participated in the event.

Yana Chepurna, head of the vocational training department within the Employment Programs Implementation Division of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center, spoke about opportunities for free vocational training, professional development, and retraining. In particular, she discussed training for registered unemployed individuals, vouchers for certain categories of citizens, and grants for professional development.

Participants were informed about who is eligible for these programs, how to apply, and which professions are in demand in the labor market. Among the fields in high demand are welding, culinary arts, sewing, social work, and digital technologies.

They also discussed the possibility of organizing training tailored to the specific needs of employers. If the employment service does not have any registered unemployed individuals with the required qualifications, a company may apply to train or retrain specialists according to an agreed-upon curriculum.

During the meeting, participants also asked questions about the conditions for receiving vouchers, completing training, and available support programs.

The regional platform “Dialogue Between Government and Business” facilitates the discussion of pressing issues and the search for practical solutions for entrepreneurs in the Donetsk region.
