A meeting was held in the Donetsk region to discuss the organization of the evacuation of residents from areas located within the zone of active and potential hostilities. Participants reviewed key aspects of mandatory evacuation, including its organization in the region’s settlements and the specifics of forcibly evacuating families with children.

The meeting was attended by representatives of local authorities, as well as representatives of non-governmental humanitarian organizations involved in evacuation processes and providing assistance to the population.

Special attention during the meeting was given to issues of the safe movement of the civilian population and ensuring adequate conditions for the temporary stay of evacuated residents.

In his report, Ihor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration, stated that, in cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv Regional State Administrations, and with the support of non-governmental humanitarian organizations, two transit centers have been established to receive evacuees.

Specifically, a transit point with a capacity of 117 people has been operating at a new location in Pavlohrad since August 25, 2025. In Lozova, such a center began operating on August 19, 2025, and can accommodate 184 people at a time.

According to Ihor Boiko, more than 70,000 citizens have already used the services of the transit centers since they began operating.

Currently, evacuees from the Donetsk region are being received by the Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv.

The daily evacuation efforts are being carried out by 12 teams from the National Police of Ukraine and two teams from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. They oversee the evacuation process, help citizens leave dangerous areas, and ensure compliance with safety measures.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that evacuation remains a vital tool for protecting the lives and health of the civilian population under martial law. Regional authorities continue to coordinate efforts with other regions and partners to ensure the effectiveness of this process and provide comprehensive assistance to people who are forced to leave their homes.
