Ihor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, met with a delegation from the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) led by Executive Director Karl Skau.

During the meeting, the parties discussed work plans for the second half of the year, the humanitarian, security, and food situation in the region, the status of population evacuation, trends in socioeconomic development, as well as the priority needs of the Donetsk region.

Addressing the meeting participants, Ihor Boiko emphasized that the situation in the Donetsk region remains challenging, which is why one of the main tasks today is to ensure the stable and uninterrupted operation of evacuation centers and humanitarian hubs so that residents of Donetsk Oblast who were forced to leave their homes can receive the necessary services and support in a timely manner and feel cared for.

Ihor Boiko also expressed his sincere gratitude to the United Nations World Food Program for its long-standing assistance to the region.

“Mr. Skau, I would like to once again thank, through you, the entire UNWFP team for their long-standing support and assistance to the residents of Donetsk Oblast—both in kind and in cash. Its importance for people affected by the war cannot be overstated,” he emphasized.

In closing, the deputy head of the regional administration expressed hope for expanded cooperation between the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the UN World Food Programme to support residents of the region who have evacuated to safer parts of Ukraine.
