The Donetsk Regional State Administration held a meeting on organizing the evacuation of the population from the region to safer areas of Ukraine. The meeting was chaired by Igor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, with the participation of heads of local communities and representatives of structural units of the Regional State Administration.
Representatives of charitable and volunteer organizations also joined the meeting, including the Coordination Humanitarian Center, the Kramatorsk Volunteer Association, the East SOS Charitable Foundation, the Proliska Humanitarian Mission, the Angels of Salvation Charitable Foundation, the Old Town Community initiative, Volunteer Rescue Service, and Futurama, which are involved in evacuation efforts and providing assistance to the population on a daily basis.
During the meeting, issues related to the status of evacuation efforts in the Donetsk region were discussed, as well as the deployment and organization of resilience centers in the region's settlements.
Ihor Boyko noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, as of February 19, 2026, more than 1,335,000 residents have been evacuated from their places of permanent residence during evacuation measures carried out by authorities at all levels, volunteer formations, and volunteers. Of these, about 204,000 are children and about 47,300 are people with disabilities. About 183,000 people remain in the territory of the region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, of whom 11,700 are children.
In cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regional state administrations, as well as non-governmental humanitarian organizations, two transit points have been established: in Pavlohrad (starting operations at a new location on August 25, 2025, with a capacity of 117 places) and in Lozova (starting operations on August 19, 2025, with a capacity of 184 places).
Currently, evacuees from Donetsk are being accepted by the Vinnytsia, Poltava, Cherkasy, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions and the city of Kyiv.
Evacuation measures in the region are carried out daily by groups from the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
