On July 8, a videoconference was held with the participation of Igor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and included deputy heads of the military administrations of settlements in the Donetsk region, district state administrations, heads of physical culture and sports management bodies, directors of children’s and youth sports schools, heads of “Sport for All” public health centers, and representatives of the “Kolos” Physical Culture and Sports Society.
During the meeting, participants discussed the status of implementing state policy in the field of physical culture and sports under martial law and heard reports from local communities on organizing sports activities for the public, including the experience of the Selidivska City Territorial Community.
They also reviewed the results of work for June and plans for July 2026, discussed the participation of local communities in creating the “Ukrainian Donetsk Region” electronic calendar, and preparations for the physical culture and health event “I Honor the Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine” – 2026.
Ihor Boiko paid special attention to thorough preparations for the ninth All-Ukrainian patriotic run “I Honor the Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine,” emphasizing that this event is a vital component of honoring the memory of Ukraine’s fallen defenders and uniting communities around national and patriotic values.
Ihor Boiko once again stressed the need to ensure the event is properly organized in every local community and to maximize participation by young people, veterans, military personnel, representatives of the sports community, and all concerned residents.
He emphasized that the patriotic run dedicated to the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Ukraine is not only a sporting event but also a symbol of gratitude and respect for those who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of our country.
