The Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture is launching the annual remote dance marathon “Dance, Ukraine!”, which will take place from April 22 to 29, 2026. This initiative, which unites hearts and movements, is being implemented with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The marathon is designed to be a virtual creative space where anyone can express themselves through dance, feel a sense of belonging to a shared cultural space, and join a great movement of unity that brings Ukraine together regardless of distance.
Everyone is invited to participate: dance troupes, small dance groups, and solo performers, regardless of age or experience. The main requirement is a love of dance and a desire to share it with others.
Participants are asked to create a video clip up to 3 minutes long featuring a choreographed routine set to Ukrainian music: folk, contemporary, classical, or stylized. The style is open-ended, as true beauty in dance is born from diversity.
Applications and video materials can be submitted through April 28 (inclusive) to the email address: [email protected]. The email must include the first and last name of the performer or the name of the group, the name of the director (if applicable), as well as the community the participants represent.
All submitted videos will be published on the official Facebook page of the Educational and Methodological Center.
“Dance, Ukraine!” is an invitation to feel the rhythm of your country, to say what matters without words, and to prove once again that even from a distance, we move together.
