On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Donetsk region joined in the global celebration of linguistic diversity by holding an open essay marathon entitled «The world speaks the language of freedom.» The event was initiated by the Donetsk Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Culture with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Regional State Administration.
The marathon brought together residents of the region, Donetsk natives from other regions, and people from different countries around the world. More than two hundred creative works in the form of essays, videos, and presentations proved that the Ukrainian language is the language of free people, inspiring, supporting, and uniting regardless of distance. Participants read poetry, performed songs, shared personal stories, reflected on the difficult path of their native language, and confessed their love for it.
The essay marathon grew into a large-scale platform for creativity and spiritual unity, proving once again that language is not only a means of communication, but also a symbol of dignity, memory, and inner freedom.
The event became an example of how culture can unite, support, and inspire.
