Today, January 20, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko, together with representatives of relevant structural units of the regional state administration, joined an online meeting on preparing Ukrainian citizens for national resistance and improving the teaching of the subject "Defense of Ukraine."
The event was chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education and Science, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Command of the Territorial Defense Forces, and relevant deputies of the heads of regional military administrations.
The key topic of discussion was the draft Strategy for the Development of a Comprehensive National Resistance System in 2026. Participants considered mechanisms for interaction between military command and civil administrations to create a reliable reserve and enhance the country's defense capabilities.
Special attention was paid to the creation and development of specialized centers for studying the integrated course "Defense of Ukraine."
The meeting participants discussed the state policy on the reintegration of veterans. One of the priorities is to involve war veterans as instructors at the Centers and branches of "Defense of Ukraine." This will allow young people to gain real combat experience and, at the same time, provide decent employment for defenders who have returned to civilian life.
During the meeting, the status of approval of important regulatory and legal acts was considered: Amendments to the Procedure for Conducting Initial General Military Training, Regulations on Centers for Studying the Subject "Defense of Ukraine," Preparation for the second reading of draft law No. 13347, which aims to regulate certain issues of preparing citizens for resistance.
Based on the results of the meeting, an action plan was outlined aimed at maximizing the synchronization of efforts by central and regional authorities in the field of military-patriotic education and defense.
