Farmers in the Donetsk region have begun harvesting early grain crops. Artem Chagan, director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development and Land Relations at the regional state administration, visited agricultural enterprises and farms in the Kramatorsk district that have been identified as critical to the functioning of local communities.
During the trip, the department director drew farmers’ attention to the need to comply with occupational safety and fire safety regulations, discussed issues arising during the harvest amid adverse security conditions, and explored ways to resolve them.
Following the meetings with agricultural producers, the department’s leadership is coordinating efforts with representatives of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and other relevant agencies to minimize crop losses, prevent fatalities and injuries among agricultural workers, and ensure the successful completion of the harvest campaign.
Artem Chagan also congratulated the farmers on Farmer’s Day and presented awards from the regional state administration and the Ministry of Economy to dedicated workers.
Farmers in Donetsk Oblast have begun their fifth harvest amid the difficult realities of hostilities, preserving jobs, helping the local population cultivate their land, and supporting the vital functions of their communities.
