In honor of World Vyshyvanka Day, the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity is launching a regional photo challenge titled “Dressed in Heritage.”
This initiative aims to promote the vyshyvanka as the genetic code of the nation, a symbol of resilience and living history passed down through generations.
We invite residents of the region to showcase the diversity of Ukrainian embroidery traditions, reminding the world of our unity and strength. Each photo submitted as part of the project should serve as a testament to deep respect for national culture and family heritage, captured in unique patterns and stitches.
To participate in the campaign, you must post a high-quality selfie or family photo wearing an embroidered shirt—whether traditional, modern, or an antique heirloom—on the “Extracurricular Activities of Donetsk Region” Facebook page by May 21, 2026.
The photo should be accompanied by a brief description of the shirt’s history, the origin of its ornamentation, or the personal significance of this garment for your family. It is mandatory to use the thematic hashtags #одягненіуспадщину2026 and #ПозашкілляДонеччини.
Together, let’s fill the information space with the warmth of family stories and the beauty of Ukrainian ornamentation. Our heritage is our pride!
