Chaired by Vitaliy Bezgin, Ukraine’s Minister for Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons, an online meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Measures and Effective Response to Mass Population Displacement was held. The meeting was attended by Ihor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; and Olena Tokareva, Director of the Department of Social Protection.
During the meeting, the headquarters approved the establishment of a new evacuation site for citizens. This decision was prompted by the fact that the occupiers are deliberately targeting evacuation sites for civilians in the region.
A decision was also approved to carry out the mandatory, compulsory evacuation of children from certain settlements in the Svyatogorsk City Territorial Community, certain areas of the city of Sloviansk, and the village of Sukhanivka in the Sloviansk Community. This decision was made to protect the lives and health of children amid the constant threat of enemy shelling.
Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, reported on the current situation regarding the evacuation of Donetsk region residents. He described the operations of evacuation points and transit centers, and noted that citizens requiring medical care after evacuation are being placed in medical facilities in safer regions of Ukraine.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration urges parents not to delay evacuation and to take their children’s safety seriously, as their lives and health remain the top priority.
