August 29 is the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. The soldiers gave the most precious thing - their lives - for the sake of our freedom and peace on Ukrainian soil. The symbol of this date is the sunflower - a flower of sorrow, courage and steadfastness.
The Donetsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity joined the commemoration by holding a regional event "Sunflower of Memory". More than 1,000 pupils from out-of-school education institutions in Donetsk Oblast took part in creating their own symbolic sunflowers.
The children worked with instruction cards, videos and masters in various techniques of decorative and fine arts.
The participants posted all their works on the page "Extracurricular activities of Donetsk region" on the social network Facebook with the hashtags: #sunflowers of memory2025, #Extracurricular activities of Donetsk region
