In Donetsk region, efforts to support veterans and military personnel released from captivity were coordinated

On February 27, a regular meeting of the working group on coordination in the Donetsk region was held to discuss the provision of assistance and social services to war veterans, military personnel, and families of deceased (dead or missing) military personnel.

The meeting was attended by representatives of structural units of the regional state administration, the regional employment center, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk region, the Donetsk regional territorial recruitment center, the Main Directorates of the National Police, the State Emergency Service in Donetsk region, and representatives of military administrations whose residents include the aforementioned categories of defenders.

The working group discussed the provision of assistance and state and additional social guarantees for war veterans, military personnel released from captivity on February 5, 2026, and seriously wounded military personnel.

As of today, 19 military personnel released from captivity and 5 seriously wounded military personnel are registered with the military administrations.

Following the meeting, priority tasks were identified and key areas for further action were outlined, aimed at improving the mechanisms for providing assistance to the relevant categories of defenders.

The working group will continue to provide systematic support and coordination of measures aimed at implementing state policy in the field of social protection for war veterans, military personnel, and their families.
