The Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History held a cultural and educational event called “Symbol of Memory” to mark the Day of Remembrance for the defenders of Ukraine who died fighting for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our state.
The event was attended by families of military personnel and veterans – people for whom this date has special significance. The museum prepared a master class for them, combining creative work and deep symbolism.
Together, the participants painted eco-shoppers with acrylic paints, transforming ordinary household items into true carriers of memory. The central image was a sunflower — a sign of respect and gratitude to the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine.
Each drawing was unique, as it reflected a piece of the author's personal history and inner feelings. The creations will not only decorate everyday life, but also remind us of the price of independence, those who defended it, and the power of memory that unites generations.
The warm and sincere atmosphere of the event brought everyone together, gave them the opportunity to express their emotions, and at the same time leave behind a tangible symbol—sunflowers on canvas that will preserve the light of memory and gratitude.
