Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Ihor Boiko took part in a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and conduct of physical education and health events and competitions “Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues” among students of general secondary education institutions in the 2025-2026 academic year.
During the meeting, those present reviewed the progress of registration of general secondary education institutions and teams in physical culture and health events and competitions, which this year are being held under the slogan “Together we will win!”. They also discussed the involvement of educational institutions in All-Ukrainian sports competitions aimed at promoting physical culture among children and young people.
Separately, those present reviewed the experience of the Pokrovsk territorial community in organizing and conducting physical education and health events and competitions as part of the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues” project in the previous academic year.
Ihor Boiko emphasized that participation in such competitions contributes to strengthening the health of the younger generation and developing team spirit, unity, and mutual support. Donetsk Oblast will continue to actively support sports initiatives that foster strength, resilience, and belief in victory.
The deputy head of the region also announced that competitions in 12 sports are proposed for the 2025-2026 academic year. In addition to futsal, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, orienteering, rugby-5, and handball, five more sports have been added: 3x3 basketball, biathlon, athletics, table tennis, and chess.
