A briefing on public safety during power outages was held in Donetsk Oblast

A briefing was held in Donetsk Oblast with the participation of representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the police, during which they discussed safe behavior for the population in the event of emergency and planned power outages.

During the event, information was provided on the main risks associated with the use of alternative sources of heating and power supply, and the need to comply with fire and electrical safety rules was emphasized. Special attention was paid to the role of fire alarms and the timely response of emergency services in case of emergencies.

According to the State Emergency Service, since the beginning of the year, 90 fires have been recorded in the region, resulting in 13 deaths, including one child, and 17 injuries. There were 38 fires caused by everyday stuff, which killed six people and injured eight.

The speakers asked people in the region to be careful, follow the experts' advice, and protect their lives and health.
