The civilian population of the Donetsk region is gradually decreasing, with people volunteering for evacuation, considering the situation in the region. As of early July, about 280 thousand people remain in the territory of Donetsk controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, of which 20,070 are children.

In the past week, about 2 thousand residents have been evacuated from the region. The progress of the evacuation in Donetsk was discussed during a weekly briefing at the regional state administration with the participation of representatives from the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense Work, the Children's Affairs Service, and the Department of Social Protection of the Population.

In the territories of communities declared as zones of active hostilities, about 24 thousand residents live. This was reported by Dmytro Petlin, head of the operational duty service, communication, notification, and informing the population of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense Work.

As of early July, 1,680 people remain living in Pokrovsk, and in Kostiantynivka, where the situation is constantly deteriorating, there are more than 8 thousand people.

In the territories of 5 settlements, where the evacuation of families with children is taking place forcibly, 46 minors remain. This was reported by Yuliia Ryzhakova, head of the Children's Affairs Service. In the village of Novoselivka in the Lyman community, there is 1 child remaining, in the settlements of the Dobropillia community, where the evacuation of families with children is taking place forcibly, there are 27 children remaining, and in the Druzhkivka community – 18 children.

In the past week, 55 children were evacuated from the settlements covered by the forced evacuation of families with children. From the Dobropillia community, 11 children were evacuated, and from the Druzhkivka community – 44 children.

All those people who volunteer for evacuation but have nowhere to go can be accommodated for free in shelters in other, safer regions of Ukraine. Last week, free evacuation with resettlement covered 20 people and lasted to the Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava, and Ternopil regions. Evacuation with resettlement to the Volyn region is planned for July 6.

Currently, about 10 people are temporarily living in a transit center in Pavlohrad, waiting for their documents to be restored. Through the hub in Pavlohrad, residents not only from Donetsk but also from Dnipropetrovsk are traveling, who are forced to move to safer regions due to the escalation of the situation.
