A meeting took place with the participation of KP "Company "Voda Donbasu", KVP "Kramatorsk Vodokanal", KP "Slovmiskvodokanal" of the Sloviansk City Council, and humanitarian organizations regarding the stability and quality of centralized water supply in Donetsk region. Representatives of humanitarian organizations were invited to the meeting: UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), MEDAIR, ACTED, People In Need (PIN), and others.
Igor Novak, the general director of the municipal enterprise "Company "Voda Donbasu", spoke about the need to repair one of the water pipelines, which is currently in critical condition, and about the procurement of reagents for drinking water purification. He thanked international donors for their support in repairs and for providing the necessary means to supply quality drinking water in Donetsk region.
Also, the deputy director of the department - head of the management of life support systems, housing policy, and landscaping, Larysa Huseva, emphasized the need for assistance from international organizations and expressed gratitude to partners. She also spoke about the existing points for the distribution of free water to the population in case of emergencies.
The deputy mayor of Kramatorsk, Andriy Bezsonny, talked about the urgent needs of KVP "Kramatorsk Vodokanal" and also expressed gratitude to international organizations for their help and prompt provision of necessary equipment after shelling.
At the meeting, issues of drinking water purification, supply and storage of reagents, and ways to solve problematic issues, as well as the possibility of attracting assistance from international organizations were discussed.
