216 thousand people remain in Donetsk region

There are 216,000 civilians still living in the government-controlled areas of Donetsk region. There are 15,830 children among them.

The evacuation in Donetsk Oblast was discussed at a traditional briefing at the regional state administration with the participation of representatives of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense, the Children's Service and the Department of Social Protection.

About 17,000 civilians, including 34 children, live in 18 communities recognized as active combat zone. This was reported by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of operational and emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the department for civil protection, mobilization and defense work.

Over the past week, 1,830 residents of Donetsk Oblast, including 309 children, left the region on their own or were evacuated.

In seven settlements of the four communities where families with children are being forcibly evacuated, 1,885 children remain living. According to Yulia Ryzhakova, head of the children's service, the largest number of minors remains in Druzhkivka community - 1778 children.

During the week, 194 children were evacuated from the communities where the forced evacuation of families with children continues. 11 children were evacuated from the Lyman community, 42 children from Dobropolye, 3 children from Kryvyi Rih, 67 children from Bilozersk and 71 children from Druzhkivka.

All evacuees who come to the transit points in Dnipropetrovska and Kharkivska oblasts receive the necessary assistance. We are actively resettling those people who have nowhere to go and who need it. This was stated by Dmytro Pozharsky, Head of the Social Services Division of the Department of Social Protection of the Population.

Over the past week, 112 evacuated Donetsk residents were resettled in safer regions of Ukraine. Over the past month, 16 regions have accepted people from Donetsk Oblast for resettlement.
