New simulator on Diya.Education: try your hand at being a cybersecurity analyst

Published 03 September 2025 year, 16:26

Cyber threats are a daily reality for Ukraine. Government systems, businesses, and critical infrastructure are under constant attack, so the demand for cybersecurity specialists is growing rapidly.

Cybersecurity analyst is one of the most sought-after professions in 2025, with salaries ranging from ₴25,000 for beginners to ₴150,000+ for experienced specialists.

Dія.Osvita gives you the opportunity to start a career as a cybersecurity analyst:

Step 1. Familiarize yourself with the materials created in collaboration with Cisco and Cisco Talos Intelligence Group

Watch the educational series "Cybersecurity Analyst," which explains the daily tasks, challenges, and tools of this profession.

After watching, take the interactive simulator, which allows you to experience the profession in practice. The lecturer is Dmytro Korzhevyn, a cyber threat intelligence and response analyst at Cisco Talos.

The simulator contains 19 tasks and a mini-test that simulate the work of a specialist responsible for the security of the digital infrastructure of organizations, from banks to hospitals.

You will train using examples of typical incidents:

  • phishing;
  • data leaks;
  • DDoS attacks;
  • server infection with malicious software.

During the simulator, you will learn to:

  • assess risks;
  • isolate affected systems;
  • stop attacks and restore security;
  • You will also receive explanations and advice after each step.

The simulator will help you better understand the responsibilities of a cybersecurity analyst, key actions in response to cyber incidents, and decide whether you are interested in developing in this field.

"Cybersecurity today is the foundation of a modern digital state. The Ukrainian cybersecurity market has grown fourfold in eight years, to $138 million in 2024, and experts predict it will grow by another 50% by 2029. This creates a need for a new generation of specialists capable of maintaining digital infrastructure. Thanks to our collaboration with Cisco, we have created a simulator on Diya.Education — a practical platform that opens the door to this profession and simultaneously strengthens the country's cyber resilience," says Valeria Ionan, Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalization, and Global Partnerships.

Step 2. Check out the job openings

Use the "cybersecurity analyst" filter in the Dія.Osvita catalog to find current job offers. This is an opportunity for veterans, internally displaced persons, and anyone who wants to master a sought-after profession with the prospect of remote work.

Cybersecurity requires high qualifications and continuous improvement. The products on Diya.Education create an entry point into the profession: they introduce the challenges and main tasks of a cyber analyst and help you make decisions about further development in this field.

"Cybersecurity is one of the key areas for Ukraine today. Every day we see an increase in the number of attacks, so training new specialists is becoming critically important. Together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Diya.Education platform, we have created the "Cybersecurity Analyst" simulator. It recreates typical incidents that analysts face every day and allows users to experience what it means to work on the digital front: from identifying threats to responding to them. It is not only a practical tool for learning about the profession, but also a way to encourage more people to choose a career in cybersecurity. For Cisco, this project is an important part of the CDA program, as we strive to help Ukraine create a secure and sustainable digital future. We are proud to be a partner on this journey," emphasizes Serhii Martynchuk, General Manager of Cisco Ukraine.
