Over the past week, 7,800 people, including 380 children, have been evacuated from the region. The progress of the evacuation in Donetsk Oblast was discussed during a weekly briefing at the regional state administration with the participation of representatives of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense and the Department of Social Protection of the Donetsk Oblast State Administration.

Currently, 21,700 people live in the communities that are classified as the area of active hostilities, including 115 children. This was reported by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the department for civil protection, mobilization and defense work.

The forced evacuation of families with children continues in 5 settlements. Over the past week, 187 children have been evacuated from these settlements. There are 316 children in Dobropolye, 6 children in Hannivka, 18 children in Dobropolye, 4 children in Novofedorivka, and 1 child in Novoselivka.

The forced evacuation of families with children began in Donetsk region on April 7, 2023, and 15,540 children have been evacuated from 306 settlements where forced evacuation was underway.

We continue to provide free accommodation to evacuated residents of Donetsk Oblast in safer areas of Ukraine. Over the past week, 92 people have been resettled free of charge, including 23 children and 16 people with limited mobility. This was reported by Dmitry Pozharsky, Head of the Social Services Division of the Department of Social Protection.

Thanks to cooperation with partners, 20 families have already been moved to Drohobych, Lviv region, for free accommodation, so 51 children are safe. On Sunday, 9 people, including 6 children, left for Zakarpattia. Today, on August 6, in the morning, 25 residents of Donetsk region left for Rivne region.

Dmytro Pozharsky once again urged not to delay the evacuation. Recently, "White Angels" brought a woman from Pokrovsk to the transit point in Pavlohrad. While trying to evacuate on her own, her neighbors were killed by an enemy drone, and the wounded woman walked for 8 hours until she met help. At the transit point, she received medical care, but refused free accommodation. She was sent by evacuation train to her family in Bila Tserkva.
