From February 4 to 25, 2026, the Donetsk Youth Palace "Yunist" is holding an online literary competition "Poetic Extravaganza" dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka's birth.
Students and teachers from general secondary, extracurricular, vocational, pre-higher, and higher education institutions in the Donetsk region are invited to participate in the contest. There is no limit to the number of participants from one institution.
Contest videos should be dedicated to Lesya Ukrainka's work, her ideas, patriotic themes, and the development of artistic language. Participants may present poetry recitations, prose works (essays, short stories, journalistic notes), or literary compositions.
The competition is held in five age categories:
- 6–10 years old;
- 11–15 years old;
- 16–21 years old;
- 21–28 years old;
- separate category – teachers.
To participate in the competition, by February 15, 2026 (inclusive), you must send a separate application for each participant and a competition video work marked "Poetic Extravaganza" to the email address [email protected].
From February 20 to February 23, 2026 (inclusive), online voting will be open on the Palace website https://yunist.org.ua/, in which anyone can participate.
Requirements for competition entries:
- video format – MP4, landscape orientation;
- maximum duration – up to 1 minute;
- language of performance – Ukrainian;
- the title of the work and the educational institution must be indicated in the credits;
- the use of own photo and video materials is allowed;
- the number of video works from one educational institution is unlimited.
"Poetic Extravaganza" is an opportunity for young people and teachers not only to demonstrate their performing skills, but also to rediscover for themselves and others the creativity of Lesya Ukrainka as a source of strength, civic stance, and faith in the Ukrainian word.
