The NLF announces the start of an essay contest for students in grades 9–11 from Donetsk Oblast. Wherever they are now, the NLF wants to hear their voices!
This year's theme is "Ukrainian cultural vibe: what touches me."
The contest seeks interesting, lively thoughts, personal reflections, and honest texts about what modern youth are interested in. What exactly in Ukrainian culture "touches" teenagers today?
What awaits the participants:
- Bookstore gift certificates for three winners.
- NYCamp! As usual, all winners and finalists will be invited to an arts and education camp in the Carpathians.

The New York Literary Festival is a special initiative by writer Victoria Amelina. It all began in October 2021 in New York, Donetsk Oblast. The competition later expanded to the Bakhmut community, and this year it is being extended to the entire Donetsk Oblast. The organizers of the NLF are continuing Victoria's work of seeking out and supporting authentic voices.
