The new rules for state grant support open up additional opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop and scale their businesses. The updated Procedure for Granting Grants provides for a system of bonuses (supplements), through which, under certain conditions, recipients can receive more funding than the base grant amount provides for.
The grant amount may be increased under the following conditions:
by 5 percent — for recipients aged 18 through 25 inclusive;
by 20 percent — for recipients:
• who are veteran entrepreneurs;
• who, as of the date of application submission, are registered as value-added tax payers;
• who hold a valid Ukrainian patent for an invention and/or utility model directly related to the implementation of the business project;
• who fall into the category of internally displaced persons and have more than six months of entrepreneurial experience, or for relocated enterprises;
• provided the recipient commits to creating two new jobs;
by 30 percent — for recipients:
• who are registered and conduct or plan to conduct business activities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions, as well as within the territory of the Slavutych City Territorial Community in the Kyiv region;
• who use grant funds to replace fixed assets destroyed or damaged as a result of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine;
50 percent — for recipients implementing projects in priority economic sectors.
So if you’re planning to start your own business or are already ready to scale it up, it’s worth checking whether your business meets the conditions for receiving the bonus. Additional funding can provide an opportunity to purchase necessary equipment, expand production, create new jobs, and carry out your planned business development. Don’t limit yourself to the base grant amount if your project qualifies for more.
