Under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 617 of May 15, 2026, the Ukrainian government has updated and significantly expanded the list of goods and services that parents can purchase using the Baby Box cash compensation.
The right to receive the compensation is granted to:
Ukrainian citizens;
Foreign nationals and stateless persons legally residing in Ukraine with a child;
Persons recognized in Ukraine as refugees or as individuals in need of additional protection,
provided they are the child's:
parents; or
legal guardians (if guardianship has been established).
Previously, the Baby Box cash compensation could only be used to purchase a limited range of items, including:
baby care and hygiene products (such as diapers and wet wipes);
children's clothing and footwear;
baby food;
children's tableware;
toys;
children's textiles (including towels and blankets);
baby walkers, strollers, infant car seats, and baby bathtubs.
Under the new rules, the compensation may now be used to purchase a much broader range of goods and services from legal entities and sole proprietors, including:
children's and family clothing;
footwear, including specialized children's footwear;
electronic equipment;
books, toys, and stationery;
admission to amusement attractions, circuses, carnivals, and children's entertainment centers;
visits to doctors, hospitals, and other medical services;
childcare services; and more.
The Baby Box cash compensation amounts to three subsistence minimums for children under the age of six, which equals UAH 8,451 in 2026.
The payment is transferred to a special-purpose current account, including one linked to a Diia Card, opened with an authorized bank.
Please note:
If an item purchased with Baby Box funds is returned, the refund must be credited exclusively to the same special-purpose account from which the payment was made. Cash refunds or transfers to any other account are not permitted.
