Yana Chufytska - participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Power of Good and Unity"
This is the story of Yana Chufytska, who used to be a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, dreaming of traveling with her family, new methods at school, and a quiet future for her son. But the war destroyed everything familiar: her home, her job, and her usual rhythm of life. Together with her family, she was forced to leave her native Kostiantynivka and start over in Dnipro.
Despite the loss of her home and uncertainty, Yana did not lose the most important thing: her ability to love, teach, and support. She became a volunteer at the IDP Support Center "MiRazom", where she meets people with the same pain and confusion as herself every day.
Here, she not only helps others regain their strength, but also finds support for herself. Her language club has become a space of community where people not only learn, but regain their faith and trust in the world.
This is not just a story about loss and a new beginning. It is a story about how to remain a light in times of darkness, how to learn to live in the here and now, and how to turn your own pain into strength to support others.
Yana does not have loud slogans, but she has the most important things - humanity, dignity and faith that even after the most difficult trials, you can find a foothold and build a new life step by step. This is a story about a modern-day teacher who, despite everything, continues to teach - not only language, but also resilience, kindness, and love.
