Tetiana Savkevych is a participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Caring Heart"
Tetiana was born in the mining town of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, which is often called the "Western Gate of Donbas". Her life is clearly defined by two vectors: professional responsibility to people and deep faith in the future of Ukraine.
It is these guidelines that led her to serve in the social protection system, where she currently holds the position of Deputy Head of the Department for Veteran Policy and Integration of Persons with Disabilities at the Social Protection Department of the Pokrovsk City Council.
The invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops brought new challenges. Tatyana became part of a large but very specific cause - saving people. She took part in the reception and further evacuation of families with children and single people, kept records of evacuees, assisted in the distribution of humanitarian aid, advised on routes and transport, organized transportation from evacuation centers to the train station, and liaised with volunteer organizations and foundations to help people find safe places to resettle.
Tatyana was also involved in the evacuation of the population of Donetsk region: registering and accompanying people, advising on routes, providing humanitarian assistance, transporting people to the train station and redirecting them to safe regions. In 2024, Tetiana was awarded the medal "For Dignity and Patriotism" for her dedicated work.
Today, Tatiana, like most people from the Donetsk region, is an IDP. But she remains an anchor for many people in her community. Her dream is that every person from a vulnerable group - from a veteran to an elderly woman with limited mobility - could quickly receive an understandable, high-quality and humane service.
