Olena Havryushchenko - participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Creator of Changes and Opportunities"
Olena Havryushchenko is a teacher from Bakhmut, now a resident of Zhovti Vody, who has dedicated her life to education and child development. After being forced to move due to the war, she did not stop, but found the strength to support others and create new opportunities for the community.
In 2022, Olena joined the creation of an educational center for children affected by the war. Today, this space has become a second home for teenagers: here they gain knowledge, develop talents, find friends and support.
In 2024, she received the award "Active Youth of the Zhovtovodsk Community". Her students won the regional competition "Side by Side. All-Ukrainian School Leagues" chess competition in Dnipro and won the right to represent the region at the all-Ukrainian stage.
In the early summer of 2025, thanks to grant support, Olena opened a photo studio and launched the course "PhotoArt: The World in Your Gadget," where children learn mobile photography for free.
She is convinced that a modern teacher should open new horizons for children: "By developing myself, I help others grow. Even in the darkest times, you can find the light and give it to those around you," says Olena.
Her story is an example of how strength of spirit, love for children, and a desire for change can turn challenges into opportunities. Women like her prove that it is worth supporting those who bring goodness, leadership and inspiration to communities every day.
