Maryna Bessarab is a participant of the regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in 2025, nomination "Creator of Changes and Opportunities"
Maryna Bessarab is an example of how strength of spirit, love of work, and dedication to people can change lives even in the most difficult circumstances. A few years ago, she worked as a cleaner in the Petrivka Village House of Culture, and today her story is a true tale of perseverance, creativity and the power of change.
Before the full-scale invasion, Maryna lived in her native village, taking care of her family and raising her daughter. The war forced her to leave her home and start a new life in a safer place. Despite all the difficulties of resettlement, Maryna did not lose faith in herself and the ability to do good.
She began to create art, write poetry, and engage her fellow villagers in online initiatives, creating a space of support for her community even from a distance. Over time, her active citizenship became known far beyond the village. Today, Maryna is a member of IDP councils at the village and district levels, a regular participant in meetings with charitable organizations, where she shares ideas for the development of the community and Ukraine.
For her dedication, high patriotism and significant contribution to the establishment of Ukraine as an independent state, Maryna received a certificate of honor from the Starovozyzhivske village council on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
Even in her temporary place of residence, the village of Stara Vyzhivka, she did not stop: she joins in weaving camouflage nets for the military, participates in charity fairs, organizes master classes and patriotic events. Recently, Maryna took part in the patriotic race "I honor the soldiers, I run for the heroes of Ukraine."
Maryna was inspired by the desire to do more for her community. She is studying at the Bakhmut Karabits Professional College of Culture and Arts, majoring in Musical Art and Choral Conducting. Thanks to her perseverance and love for her work, Maryna became the director of the Petrivske Village House of Culture.
Today, Maryna is not only an organizer of cultural events, but also a true inspiration for the community. Her example shows that even in the most difficult times, you can find the strength to develop, unite and do good.
