Open event Olympic Day dedicated to the 131st anniversary of the International Olympic Committee was held at the Donetsk Regional Specialized Professional College of Sports named after S. Bubka.
The sports holiday included traditional warm-up with an Olympian, demonstrations by young athletes, and a solemn award ceremony for students and staff of the college.
The students were greeted by honored guests: Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Ihor Boyko, Head of the Department of physical culture and sports of the Regional state administration Volodymyr Mytsyk, director of the Donetsk Regional Specialized Professional College of Sports named after S. Bubka Ihor Anushkevych, athlete of the School of Higher Sportsmanship of Donetsk Region, winner of the World Summer Universiade, participant of the XXXII Olympic Games Maria Pozdnyakova.
"Sport is about educating our youth, about determination, courage, friendship and peace. It is a grueling training aimed at climbing the podium of the most prestigious competitions, among which the Olympic Games take a special place. Donetsk region is proud of its talented athletes who prove their strength and skill to the world year after year and glorify the region with the highest achievements. I wish learners of the Donetsk Regional Sports College inexhaustible inspiration and perseverance on their way to bright success at the national and international levels, the realization of goals and dreams", - said Ihor Boyko.
Maria Pozdnyakova, international master of sports in athletics, Olympic participant, conducted an interesting warm-up with the boys and girls and shared her own motivation on how to achieve the desired heights.
The pupils and students of the Donetsk Regional Specialized Professional College of Sports named after S. Bubka demonstrated their skills in a number of sports: boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, judo, taekwondo. After talking to the guests of the Olympic Day, young people received a great boost of inspiration and positive emotions. In memory of the Olympic Day 2025, participants of the sports locations received gifts from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and Donetsk Regional State Administration.
At Olympic Day the honored guests also attended the unified state qualifying exam for 4th year students of the college and congratulated the young people on graduation. Every year the Donetsk Regional Specialized Professional College of Sports named after S. Bubka graduates specialists with a junior bachelor's degree in the specialty "017 Physical Culture and Sports".
