The time spent by Ukrainian citizens in military service is counted toward insurance experience, work experience, professional experience, length of service, and civil service experience. The time spent by military personnel in military service during a special period declared in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Defense of Ukraine” is counted toward the specified types of service on preferential terms in the manner determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This is provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On Social and Legal Protection of Military Personnel and Members of Their Families.”
Seniority is counted:
before January 1, 2004 — on the basis of military tickets, certificates issued by territorial recruitment and social support centers, military units, institutions of the Ministry of Defense, archival or military medical institutions;
from January 1, 2004 — on the basis of personalized accounting data contained in the Register of Insured Persons of the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance;
In the absence of information in the Register for the period from July 1, 2000, to December 31, 2016, regarding military personnel (except for conscripts), police officers, and persons of enlisted and commanding ranks, the length of service may be credited on the basis of a certificate of service and a certificate of payment of insurance contributions.
