The Resource Center for Inclusive Education Support at the Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education held a professional networking event titled “Support System for Children with Special Educational Needs: Integrating Practices from General Education Schools and Special Schools.”

Nearly 250 educators from general secondary and special education institutions, as well as specialists from inclusive resource centers, participated in the online event.

Participants discussed practical approaches to organizing inclusive education, providing individualized support for children with special educational needs, and creating an accessible educational environment. Special attention was given to the use of digital technologies, the adaptation of learning tasks, and collaborative work among educators.

Sloviansk Special School No. 23 of the Donetsk Regional Council, Gymnasium No. 17 of the Druzhkivka City Council, the Vasyl Stus General Secondary Education Model School of the Kramatorsk City Council, Gymnasium No. 7 of the Druzhkivka City Council, and Sloviansk General Secondary School No. 1 (Grades I–III).

During the workshop, participants discussed ways to make educational materials more accessible to children with visual impairments, the use of interactive tools, and the adaptation and modification of assignments to meet individual educational needs. Participants also explored approaches to developing students’ social, emotional, and practical skills and fostering their independence.

This professional exchange allowed educators to learn about practical solutions used by their colleagues and to discuss approaches that can be applied in educational institutions. Such meetings help spread best practices in inclusive education and improve support for children with special educational needs.
