Representatives of the structural divisions of the Donetsk Regional State Administration visited the regional children's health and recreation center "Pearl of Donetsk," which operates in Transcarpathia. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the conditions for children, the organization of their leisure activities, nutrition, and ensuring safety.
Recently, the second shift of the summer health campaign started at the camp. This time, 680 children are staying at the center, who require special attention and support: children from vulnerable categories, internally displaced persons, orphans, children deprived of parental care, as well as those who have suffered as a result of military actions.
For the third consecutive year, at the initiative of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and with the support of local authorities, children from Donetsk have the opportunity to rest in a safe place, restore their strength, and receive support. During this time, more than 4,100 children have recovered at the camp.
During the meeting with the center's administration, the specifics of conducting the second shift, the specifics of working with children who have experienced trauma, loss, or live in combat zones were discussed.
The program of the shift includes not only recreation but also psychological support, art therapy, creative activities, sports activities, workshops, and unity evenings. Special attention is paid to the emotional state of the children, adaptation to a peaceful environment, development of self-confidence, and the search for internal resources.
Organizing quality and safe recreation for our children during the state of war is a priority. We strive for every child who has experienced the horrors of war to have the opportunity to recover, feel protected, and build their happy future.
