The Ukrainian Para Powerlifting Championships took place in Dnipro city, bringing together more than 60 athletes with musculoskeletal disorders from 10 regions. The awards were presented in two types of programs: for the highest weight lifted (Best) and for the sum of three attempts (Total).
Donetsk region was represented at the national championship by three representatives of the Donetsk Regional Children and Youth Sports School for People with Disabilities.
Master of Sports of Ukraine Zlata Dyachuk from Sloviansk won two gold medals in the 86 kg weight category: the maximum weight lifted was 95 kg, the sum of three attempts was 185 kg.
Master of Sports of Ukraine Yevhen Oleksenko from Mariupol, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, won two medals. His result in the Best program was 185 kg, and his total was 540 kg.
Natalia Grigorieva from Sloviansk took two third places in the 55 kg weight category.
The athletes were trained by honored coaches of Ukraine Igor Kotlyarov and Alexey Pozdnukhov.
