On the eve of Educators’ Day, a regional event titled “Education in Donetsk Oblast: Teaching and Raising Free Citizens” was held, bringing together educators, military personnel, veterans, and representatives of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.
Participants discussed the future of Donetsk Oblast, the upbringing of children and youth, and motivation in the context of war. Due to the destruction of educational institutions and the forced evacuation of teachers and students, opportunities for in-person meetings are limited; however, educators continue to work, support children, and ensure their access to knowledge.
During the event, Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, honored educators with awards from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
Special recognition was given to educators who have joined the effort to defend Ukraine. Also during the event, the “For Social Partnership” Honorary Badge was presented by the Donetsk Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.
Despite the challenges of war, educators in the Donetsk region continue to teach and nurture children, maintain young people’s connection to their homeland, and support them on their path to the future.
