Summer is traditionally a time of rest and recuperation for children, especially those living in the difficult conditions of war who need care and support. A proper rest and recuperation are particularly important today, as they not only provide an opportunity to improve health but also offer children a sense of security, joy, and childhood.
On the initiative of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and with the active participation of local communities in the region, measures to organize children’s health programs in the safe environment of the “Pearl of Donetsk Region” Children’s Center have been implemented on a co-financing basis for the fourth consecutive year. The center operates at the facilities of health resorts in Zakarpattia Oblast, specifically the “Karpaty” Sanatorium (village of Karpaty) and the “Sunny Transcarpathia” sanatorium (village of Polyana).
This approach not only expands opportunities for quality recreation but also ensures equal access to health programs for children of various categories who require special social attention and support.
On May 25, 2026, the first health camp session began at the “Pearl of Donetsk Region” Children’s Center for 211 children from the Donetsk region who require special social attention and support.
A packed program awaits the children:
- fresh mountain air and active wellness programs;
- interesting excursions and walks along the picturesque Carpathian slopes;
- sports activities and swimming in the pools;
- art therapy, creative workshops, and theatrical performances;
- meetings with psychologists and developmental workshops;
- a friendly atmosphere, support from counselors, and new friendships.
