Published 02 June 2026 year, 10:00

The employment of minors has its own specific features and legal restrictions. These are designed to ensure that work does not interfere with their education or harm their health.

How many hours can minors work?

14–15 years old (only with the consent of a parent or guardian):

  • during school hours—up to 12 hours per week;
  • during school breaks—up to 24 hours per week.

16–18 years old:

  • if not in school — up to 36 hours per week;
  • during school breaks — up to 36 hours per week;
  • if combining work with school — up to 18 hours per week.

Important!

Employers are required to comply with labor laws regarding minors, and young workers are entitled to formal employment, safe working conditions, and social benefits.
